In the air, skates on, curls bouncing off her shoulders, holding tightly, gracefully floating. I never knew my grandmother but I do have a couple of photographs of her. Wherever I travel I take a photograph of her with me. When creating these light patterns I have roller skates on, lights attached to my body, Roy Orbison blasting and it’s a late night in an empty church. While I am dancing in the dark, long exposure photographs capture these delicate light drawings that my body creates. I print these photographs and then from this point I can create a light sculpture to float in the physical space.

To see the light sculpture the viewer must look up on a particular angle.
